So right now I have a reactor and I am running gfo. I was going to get a BRS dual reactor and had planned on running carbon and bio pellets. Correct me if I'm wrong but carbon does not tumble, what about bio pellets, do they need to tumble? What would you all run if you had three reactors? Should I just get two more of the phosban 150s or would I be ok with the dual from brs?

Bio pellets do need to tumble, and you'll need a good skimmer to match. Personally, if you're running GFO and pellets, you're likely to strip your system of nutrients. I ran both and thats what happened to me and i fed like a boss. Really depends how often you change your GFO and how many ML of pellets you run, but I feel like you could get away with on or the other; I may be wrong, depends on your system. If I did go that route; personal preference would be a BRS dual reactor, carbon/gfo, and a separate reactor for pellets, whether it be Reef Octopus, or a simple BRS pellet reactor. FYI pellets won't work in one of those BRS dual reactors, at least I should say i've tried with no luck

So which would you say works better bio pellets or gfo?

I like pellets over GFO. But that's personal preference. On a scientific scale I'm pretty sure they do different things. Carbon feeding bacteria, GFO absorbing silicate. Algae scrubbers are cool, obviously work, but like any aspect to this hobby, to each their own; I don't have one, don't need one. [emoji16]
