I support this! Ill help stir the situation by playing a manic live performance by Frank Zappa.
We're bound to get some attention now!

More cowbell is always good but so is more xylophone!

Seven days seems too long for no action to have occurred on this thread. I decided to remedy the situation.

Update? Any updates?
You are absolutely right! Only thing i can do is make some excuses about being on the mountain out of service all weekend and getting swamped at work when I got back. BUT, here are some updated photos

Flower pot is still looking really hot, been mulling over where to put it. Probably somewhere front and center. The motion and colors are *chef's kiss. It is the only thing in the tank brighter than the kryptonite candy canes. Going to get a fancy aqua rock to make a zoa island for these bad boys too.

The Luigi's Mansion zoas are pretty neat, charming, tinsy little things with some bright green middles. Will have to get some better pics when they get planted.

Last but not least, acros! CSC Rocketman is looking quite healthy. Love the peach color it has right now and can't wait for it to show me what it's got.

The millie had a rough first night though and blew off half it's skin. The other half is still doing alright though and I have since moved it up to the frag rack. The dead half is getting a bit of algae growth, so i am going to prune it up a bit this weekend to give the good half it's best chance.

Still haven't cleaned the glass corners... Lots to do in this poor tank. And I owe Camaro Show Corals a better write up thread of these pretties.

You must have paid a small fortune for that single zoa polyp, haha
IMG_5933.jpeg
Nah, this was all gratis! I won it here. This was only supposed to be a $300 box, i think that one polyp probably covered half that LOL. Definitely got hooked up!

Caulking spatula is DEFINITELY the way to go. Much faster and you keep your fingers clean. It even reached in between the baffles better than a hand. Just used that one and wiped it with a paper towel, clean up is a breeze!

Wow I didn’t know I needed one of these until this very moment. Tank looks great!

Coupla Fraglettes. Decided to mount my accidental HT frag vertical and then it looked lonely on the rack by itself.

That frag rack, I have a couple of them also, wondering if you have had any rust issues with the magnets in the tank ? I have not , but its the first time I have seen someone else using them

Not so far, they have been solid. I have been quite happy with them. I have 2 mediums and 1 large, i think one of them has spent at least a year submerged, the others over 6 months.
Only gripe i have, is if i leave sps on the rack too long and they grow tall before basing out, they tip over in the flow sometimes, had one blow out twice, but that only happens if they are over 2 inches tall and i should have mounted them already…

Did some tank maintenance yesterday, finally cleaned the glass, did a 10 gallon water change, cleaned the skimmer, fragged up a hammer colony, glued a bunch of zoas to plugs that were floating around everywhere. You know, nothing too crazy. Will have to grab some pics of the frags tomorrow when they open back up, but i did snap this one that i submitted for photo of the month club:

Swapped salts to Aqua Forest Reef. Mixed up about 15 gallons worth of my 55 gallon saltwater drum, and did a 10 gallon water change. Going to take it sloooooow. Not that i think it matters in the least. I just got impatient to start using it and didn't want to toss the rest of my instant ocean purple i already had mixed up.
Super exciting, i know.

But in non-reefing news, i am getting shipped off to Anchorage for work next week. Should be fun, but no-one is going to be home for the duration. The wife said if I am not going to be home, neither is she and is taking the kids for a weeklong visit to grandmas. Works out since she can drop me at the airport on the way. Hopefully the house is still there when we get back...

Good luck being out of town! I always have anxiety when I’m away from my tank… but things seem to do alright. Have the controller and usually have a friend drop by at least once if I can find someone available. Need to get one of those wyze cameras really.

I’ve never been to Alaska but read novels, watched movies and documentaries, and dreamed a lot of it! Cool work assignment. I’d like it until I didnt in the winter 🥶
Freeze my southern pants off. I’m cold and we’re in the upper fourties as lows this week 😂

Thanks skey! 100% sketchy being gone, first thing i do when i get home is... open the door, but the next is always check on the tank lol. I threw a kasa cam on mine, definitely helps to be able to peek in when your mind starts telling you everything is going to be dead!

I am really looking forward to be able to go. My dad was a crab fisher up there in the 80s, like on the deadliest catch tv show, and my mom was a book keeper on a salmon catcher processor ship and that is how they met. I gew up with all kinds of stories about alaska, be cool to see some of it in person.

It is actually a little warmer in Anchorage now than here, low of 22 here vs 28 up there! More snow for sure up there though 🤣🤣 at least they will have some snow!

Please post some pics of your travels if possible! Dang you live somewhere cold. We hit 22 and that’s the dead of winter here. Snow event every other year if we are lucky!

Here in Greenville SC. Don’t tell anyone how warm it is… honestly truth is already out. Been here 10 years and the growth is staggering. Our quaint small town has some growing pains. Good with the bad, but darn traffic has gotten insane. And somehow a hurricane hit us last year, talk about tank anxiety. Power out for 10 days! Leaving work to gas up the generator on my lunch break everyday. Luckily my boss is cool and I was like… hey the tank. And now anytime it’s a tank emergency/power outage she knows it’s like a kid is sick and I gotta go. In my previous 10 years living here we had never lost power for more than 8 hours. Then I start a fish tank and it’s out for 10 days. Anyways I digress. Safe travels!

That is crazy, 10 plus days?! I think the longest i can ever remeber the power being out here is about 8 hours too, and that was a planned event. Sounds like you have a great boss though and good thing you have a generator! I am out in Vernal, Utah. We hit 0 or below just about every year. Saw -22 a couple years back. We unfortunately have had the same population boom going on too. Traffic is getting rediculus and housing has gone through the roof. It still has a lot of small town feel and people are still real friendly, can chat in line at the grocery and with the teller and everything still, but not like it used to be.

I will definitely post up some pics!
