Love the tank, you've done an amazing job setting it up. I also really love how nice and tidy you have kept all the wires. I'm not going to lie I'm a little jealous, mine looks like a huge rat's nest. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! It was a ton of work but I know this tank is not going anywhere for a long time so I wanted to make sure I did everything to the best of my ability

As of right now, I dont have any plans to add more lights. Those PAR values are with the lights at about 80% and getting a range that im very happy with. My LPS seems to be very happy at 200PAR and there are highspots for SPS in the future

I was originally going to get 4x 32HDs too but then ended up getting 3x Red Sea 160. Hoping these work out.

Originally I had plans to use 2 of my Hydra 26's and 2 32's but ending up going with 4 32's after a 26 broke. Based on the PAR readings, unless I decide to start filling it with SPS which isnt in my plans...The Hydras alone should be perfect. The RS160's look like pretty impressive lights though

This weekend I got some chaeto in the refugium, and relocated my ATO pump to inside my 55g Brute RODI container using the lines and wire I pre installed in the walls. I was able to remove the little ottoman holding a 5gallon bucket for top off and now can go more then 2 days without refilling.

Just weighting on freight company to schedule my delivery as well. Question:
-How much RODI water you refilling a day due to evaporation?
-Are you using 1 or 2 heaters? And, any trouble keeping the temperature up?
-Did you higher movers to help you move the tank in?

Currently about 2 gallons of evaporation a day

2 BRS 600W heaters each with their own InkBird controller and outlet on the Apex. No issue at all keeping it heated

I did not have movers....I had my brothers and a couple friends help move it. 5 people total. you will need help getting it off the pallet so you can build the stand and then help putting it on the stand. It will probably take a couple hours to put the stand together

Hi @bdouglas119 , I received my S-1000 today, it only came in one pallet. When i opened it up, there was the following:
-Box for sump
-Box for sump extension
-Box for cabinets
-Glass aquarium.

I didn't see the metal frames. Is that in a separate package or is it under the glass aquarium? I havent moved the glass aquarium yet.

It's under the glass unfortunately. Congratulations on the new build!

yea especially since it takes a decent chunk of time to assemble. I had people help me move the tank onto dollies the night i built the stand and had them come out the next morning to move it onto the stand

Yeah I think I'm going to have them move on some dollies inside the actual room, assemble, then come back and lift on stand

This is a beautiful build, I plan to order a s1000 next month.
I'm planning dual returns with 2x M2 pumps myself.
I've been debating between 4 mp40's vs the Gyre 350's or a combo of the 2, how do you like the flow you are getting?
As for lighting I'm building a custom canopy as well but plan to run a T5 led highbred setup with a total of 8x 36” t5 bulbs, 2 rows of 2 in front and back combined with 4x Ecotech xr15's down the middle.

As a side note on my current tank I did the same canopy design but have a space cut out between the rear T5's and led's with my apex auto feeders set to dump the food through it, the feeders are 100% hidden and the aqua cable runs with the EB8 power cable through a gromet in the wall. I use a mix of multiple pellets, freeze dried, and flake food in the feeders and have never had a issue with the food not going through the screen. This is the ultimate in hidden auto feeding!

Great build thread and awesome looking results so far!!

I had a Reefer-S 850 on order in the first batch, but my construction got delayed so I had to pass on the first batch...now waiting on an ETA for the second batch. You've inspired me to potentially start a build thread ;)

If you're getting 900 might as well get the s-1000 for the eurrobracing. It's really beautiful and built so well

Well I added a powder brown tang a few days ago and unfortunately had an ich break out. None of my fish had ever been through a QT and this was the first new fish I added to the S-1000. So I decided the best thing I can do for the ones I have now and for all the future live stock is to start a strict QT and fallow period. I picked up a 55g tank, HOB filter, air stones, heater, instant ocean salt(didn’t want to waste using brightwell neomarine on a QT) and some PVC and set it up following Humble fish’s process. The display will be fallow for 90 days(76 is usually the normal time but the extra 2 weeks just ensures every last trace of disease is gone). Last night I drained the display down into brute cans, moved corals into the sand bed to keep them under water, caught all the fish, transferred them to QT and refilled the display. Hopefully I didn’t shock the corals or fish to much. Time will tell. But moving forward all fish will either be QT by me or purchased from Marine Collectors. I will also be installing a UV at some point during the fallow period as a back up moving forward in case any drop of infected water makes it into the display.

Yikes and Godspeed!

Marine Depot liquidation had, and may still have, the 40W Aqua UV for 40% off. I snagged one two days ago for my S-1000 build later this year.
