My guess is 14". Let's see that he says. How high off water line is your light? Do you know the par readings by any chance
It’s about 13” off the water.
Don’t remember the par readings years ago but was happy with them and all the acro colonies I grew from frags we’re out of control for the 30x30 footprint.
Yes 24”Awesome!! And how deep is the tank? 24?
It’s looks like it’s going to be toughAnyone running a moon light rigged to this set up?
Looking for ideas.

Well I am not as worried about the front to back coverage it's probably the depth I am more concerned about. I am thinking if I go with the 400w bulbs I can possibly lift the lights a few more inches off the tank also and give more spread and still get decent PAR at the bottom. My kessil AP700's were incredible lights but did not give anywhere near the coverage of the T5's now. I might also add a second XHL LED strip to the front and the back so it would have two sets. I know reefbrite has the mounts for that. That would extend the front to back coverage a little more.I honestly think that reflector won’t have wide enough coverage for a 36” wide tank.
I like the additional T5 you've got. I should probably consider doing a hanging canopy like that also so I could add a few t5I have this
On a 20 deep tank getting roughly 250-225 par with two 250 watt halides 12 inches above the water on the bottom of the tank
Before I added the four t-5s I was only getting 180-155 par on the sand
So if u only wanted to run this fixture for a wall to wall sps tank I would go the 400 watt route but looking at your tank photo it looks like your mostly lps so I think u could prolly get away with the 250 watts
