Thanks! This wasn't my first reef but it was my first attempt at clean dry rock versus live rock. It's been a bumpy road to say the least. :)

how do you like that jebao as a return pump?
I've used it for 2 years now without any issues. It is overpowered even at it's lowest settings. I did add valves to reduce flow. However, if you wanted to add any reactors, refugiums or UV sterlizers to the return lines, this pump is perfect for it. It is big and will take up the majority of the center return chamber. It also has a slight high pitched hum to it. That said, I also own the DC and DCT versions, they are very similar and just as quiet as the other.

PS: FWIW I just ordered the new DCW 2000 Sine pump. It's being shipped from China. It's smaller with slightly lower flow but with 10w less power usage. About 1/3rd less the size of the DC/DCT 3000. I'll post pictures and an update on that.

Tank isn't looking too bad today.
Some gha in the lower left with some cyano. Not a whole of cyano but still there.

Also got the new return pump in the mail.

This little pump is still powerful and I did have to use the valves. Not a problem though and this pump is really silent in comparison.

It's rated at 237gph - 528gph. Also the controller has LED indicators if pump issues pop up and it doesn't have to be submerged. This pump can be run outside of water.

It's improving almost on the daily. I need to get a night video of the isopods going crazy on algae. Almost looks like the sand is moving at night. I also ordered some trochus snails last night. Time to knock it all out.

Ug. The trials and tribulations.
Both of my heaters are not keeping up. Thank goodness it hasn’t been too cold here.

Actually it’s been scary warm. And dry.

Well this was a 150w aqueon pro in a 20g. It should have kept up. Ambient house temp is 72 deg. Pet smart junk.
