Intermittently my NET module displays an error message saying it has lost connection to the head unit. It resets almost immediately but the communication disconnect triggers alarms that also reset nearly immediately except for one. The one that can't reset is the high water alarm in the display that shuts down my return pump. The alarm won't reset until I do a manual reset of a push button tied to a virtual outlet. While I am grateful that the alarm works perfectly it is also a problem when it triggers without the high water condition, especially when I am not at home and can't easily reset the alarm within a short amount of time. Vacation time is coming up and I don't want the return pump to power off for a week. Has anyone had this issue with a NET module and if so what did you do to resolve it? To my knowledge there have been no drops in internet service when this happens and the NET module is hard wired to my router. I have a HUB module and it is powered externally as well.

Only thing I've read is that the Net Module's are power hungry, I would make sure it's connected directly to a PC4.

Salt I'll check that out. I do have the buss powered from a HUB module but maybe that's not enough.

It does need to be connected directly to a PC4 due to the high energy requirements. A powered hub is not the issue, it's the power requirement of the NET module from your controller. Let us know your solution so if anyone else comes across this issue, they can refer to your solution. Good Luck!

If an alarm is actually being triggered then there is an issue other than the NET module. The NET module has no control over alarms. It can send an email if one is triggered but that is it. Do you have any low power pumps turning off at the time you have these events?

Not that I know. I wonder if the issue is caused by a short in the line between the float switch and the module. I use crimp connections and maybe some of them have worked loose. Maybe I need to solder them. The alarms usually trigger on groups and not individually.

Danny could the issue be with the head unit? My head unit is an older model that can't be upgraded past firmware version 2.xxx. Let me know what you think.

The reason for the upgrade in the first place was ballast interference with the key pad. That doesn't sound like your issue. What devices do you have hooked to your PC4's? It sounds like some kind of interference that is causing the head unit to reset or loose communication on the bus's.

I have the following equipment connected to my PC4's.
Quiet One return pump, Mag pumps for reactor feeds and skimmer, tank cooling fan, AI Sol LED's, T-5 light strips, Jebao power heads 120V power, ATO solenoid valve, Quiet One CARx circulation pump, Little Giant salt water mix pump, solenoid valve for CO2 to CARx, solenoid valve for RO supply to new salt water mix tank, display tank and mix tank heaters. I don't think I changed anything or added anything to the system after I set up the RKE. The first alarm issue happened with about 1,200hrs up time on the NET module. Then it was another +/-500HRS until the next issue.

Power heads and solenoids can cause issues when powered off. Is any of those being turned on and off during the day?
Heater and high wattage pumps above around 35 watts are not usually an issue. Also keep an eye on the buss errors in say a 24hr period

The solenoid for the ATO is on and off 24/7.

Keep an eye on your buss errors. If you are getting a high number then more than likely it is either a buss cable module or one of the devices hook to the PC4's.

Ok I'll do that. If it's either of those things how do you isolate the affected component?

The first thing I would do when getting high buss errors was to reseat all the buss cable connections. If that dosen't get it I would dissconnect around half the modules and see if tha would get it. If you remove what ever is causing it the buss errors will drop off usually.

You may want to make sure that you don't have any corrosion keeping you from having good continuity of you busses. I had a module's connector pins so corroded up it was keeping me from having good terminations. JAI

I have 1 power bar in the cabinet below the tank. Everything else is above the tank or remote in the basement. I'll check that out though.
