Been a minute.. 1 yr since I rebooted back in February of 2024. Getting alot of growth and will start posting a bit more. Installed the new Orphek Icons and OR4 Icons.

So glad to see your tank is still going strong! It looks amazing!

Let me know when you have a frag of the angry bird ready. Understand it’s gonna be a while.

Truly inspirational! I rarely read build threads but read yours from start to end! Your growth and color are off the charts!

A question I have, did you have the same growth and coloration early in the game without a CA reactor? I've seen some people say a CA reactor is superior to other methods of maintaining CA, Alk, and Mg. Any thoughts on that?

Another question, what do you feed your fish?

Little update, after the major reboot back in February of 2024. Frags to full blown in a year, it can be done 😀. Industry just making it too complicated, keep it simple!

Do you have anymore close up photos of your tank? Your tank progress in a year is simply incredible!

I got a piece of that TGC from Rob can’t wait for it to take off! It’s encrusting and slowly starting to color up

Stunning tank! Which OR4 bars are you running? Would you share your Icon & OR4 lighting schedule?
Thanks,

Let me reintroduce myself and my reef tank, it's 84x48x26 w/ 48x24x16 sump. Total water volume is 600g. I've been reefing 29 years been doing acros since 2006. I just follow the same direction I have been doing for years. I use the best lights in the business, Orphek. Calc Reactor, Kalk Reactor. I use to dose Reef Solution for 20 years and just switched to Reef Trace @ 200ml per week and Lugos lodine @10ml per week, been using as long as I can remember. And Miracle Mud in my sump, been using since 1996. 10 purple box or I0RC what ever is on sale. Try not to make it too complicated and keep things simple. First clip on the video was on March 11th 2024 to May 2nd 2025. Tank is dialed in!! 1 get alot of messages asking me what my ICP or parameters are, but Ican't tell you. Only thing I test consistently is my DKH and it's at 7.

17 months since the reboot of my 600g system. 84x48x26 450g and a 48x36x20 150g Sump. Looking solid and close to Full blown. Big heart ache when I rebooted, but more satisfying to what it's becoming! My interests comes and goes, it happens when youre in the hobby close to 30yrs. Seems it grows the most when I leave it alone 😀, getting a little fired up, tank is looking insane!!! Let's go!!

Want to revive this thread and get a little bit more active. I can grow acros, quite good actually. I know there has been alot changes in the hobby in ways of methods. Some good, but most money grabs IMHO. Granted they work, but can you get the same results, with great husbandry, follow a simple method and very low over head and cost? Of course you can...if anyone have any questions... post them up

Incredible growth Rob! Acros really took off the last few months.
