So I got a SPS colony shipped to me... It did fine until the third day when I notice some flesh peeling away at the base... 2 days later and there's about 2" diameter circle of flesh missing from the base...

What are my opinions? I tried fragging the infected area but it didn't help.

Is this a wild colony? Your only real options are to either frag or possibly put some super glue at the point recession. This can sometimes curb the tissue loss. If it's a wild colony, it may be more difficult to recover. It happens quite often with wild colonies. Do you have other SPS in your tank that is doing well and growing?

That is an option but it's unlikely it will work long-term. But it's better than not trying anything. And yes, around the area of RTN. I hope you can save it. A lot of these wild colonies can be very sensitive.

you also might want to frag the heck out if it, maybe one or two of them will make it
