Good thing is alot of people have that piece now,so you can always get it back,wasnt like it was a JF My Miami or a JF Tiger Lily.

yeah ricordeas are not hard coral compatible at ALL
ive heard one too many stories of corals falling into them and completely dying off in a day
my orange place was barely next to a ric and you can see where it was...

sorry to hear:(i too lost half of my bgm due to another chalice stinging it....i thought u can put chalice near each other and wont cause any problem,guess im wrong..though i have other chalices that are close to each other and nothing is happening...its just this 1 chalice i have that stings....

I heard that acans can be near each other without problems.....is that true. Do zoas and/or polys hurt SPS? Most of my chalices seem to have small tentacles around their eye, but others (like the bazooka joe) have massive sweepers. I keep him away from the others. An acro frag of mine just fell onto our bubble coral. When I finally retreived it, it actually had a piece of tentacle sticking to it! It did not recover!

acros are pretty senitive but acans and chalices are usually pretty aggressive, kind of makes sense if you think about the way they grow. Acros dont need as much to compete for since they grow "out" where as acans, brains and chalices grow along the reef and need to compete more readily for space. This is obviously not black and white nor is it from any prior knowledge just a guess.

**** that suxs !! I recently had my Astralomussa feel on a small BS chalice frags and i lost the frag and the mussa has a dead spot in the center solid white skeleton. i hope it dont get worse! I totally feel ur pain !! crap happens !! The best of luk finding another CBTME !!

Sorry about your loss. We all go thru it I suppose.
I had an acan get pushed up against another type of acan by my starfish, and it got eaten, completely. Three heads gone. The other acan looked fat and happy for a while. My duncans were a couple inches away from one of my other acans and I looked the other day and one of the tenticals of the duncan was in the mouth of the acan. The acan was pulling it in. If the duncan had fallen over I have no doubt the acan would have eaten it too. I have an sps that one little branch is being touched by an elephant mushroom and that branch is white.
