New to reef tanks. I’ve been testing salinity with the instant ocean hydrometer. I just bought the other refractor from amazon. Just mixed some water to do a water change. Instant ocean read 1.024 the refractormeter reads 1.020. Which should i trust more? Thanks.

Try recalibrating the refractometer and testing again, the refractometer will always be more accurate than the hydrometer.

You can make two diy solutions to test each of them if you have a scale. Either or neither might be accurate.
