It doesn’t have a lot of coral in it right now, I have a bicolor blenny that had acquired a taste for LPS ☹️

It looks nice!!! Are those Lilly pipes in the corner?
Yes, they’re the Aquario Neo Flow ones with the skimmer attachment… but I’ve recently started using the skimmer as a bubbler for more oxygenation. I’ve got the wave makers close enough to the surface that they just barely vacuum the surface and keep it clear of film and particles.

@ mh0ward Which stand are u using?
lol well, it’s a butcher block top from lumber liquidators sitting on some Jarvis motorized legs.

It was a desk in my home office that I wasn’t really using, so I tossed a tank on it 😂 I’ll probably end up having some custom base cabinets made to go on each end instead of the legs so that I have some storage drawers and a place to hide equipment, but I like being able to pull up a bench and sit in front of it.

Forgot to mention, one thing to be aware of on that tank is that flow can be tricky if you only want to get away with one pump/wavemaker. The tank is 3 ft long, so getting random movement at the opposite end is tough. I tried to make it work with just one for a long time, and it kinda worked… but I wished I’d got the second wavemaker sooner. At some point I’ll probably remake the light mounts to raise the lights up about another inch for more even spread.

I’ve got my canister filter on a switch and turn it off when I feed, then flip it back on when I’m done - mainly so the food isn’t wasted. That said, at one point I was actually having to dose ammonium bicarbonate to raise Nitrate, as it had bottomed out. It took a while to get to that point though. It’s been running for 2 years and at this point, I usually only do a ~15% (~3 gal) water change once every couple of weeks, and clean the canister filter maybe once a month.

@mh0ward I’m going to take my time , the tank’s a Beauty and I like The length, just having trouble with the overflow it keeps on leaking from the plastic nut on the back of the overflow, the gasket between the tank and the overflow is fine , it’s just the nut that’s leaking a lil drop

Hi
My name is Edwin , I’m pretty much new to saltwater but I like to start a shallow reef, I have my eye on the uns 24x14x7 shallow tank but I like to put an overflow.
Does anyone here have a similar tank?
For stoking I would like a pair of clownfish, cleaner shrimp and soft coral!
It’s this doable , I would be doing weekly water changes, by the way the tank will have a Túnze nano ato!
Forgot to ask, does anyone here drill tank
I’m local in Tustin California
Hey Edwin, I have the next step up in the UNS shallow lineup (UNS 75S, 12" height) and I love the form factor of the tank. An overflow on a tank as shallow as a UNS 60S would be difficult and leave you with very little water height to work with. As other people have mentioned UNS makes an all-in-one version of this tank you might look into.
