Been dealing with cyano issues in the lagoon and on the sand bed of the R120.

I tested my nutrients and they are sky high and I’m sure it’s due to my pretty large fish load. Having said that, I need to step up my nutrient export system.

Water changes are the quick fix for sure, just need to get my butt in gear.

Man, I'm just now realizing you set up a lagoon tank, and it looks amazing!

Cyano still a problem, realistically I haven’t done much to combat it. I tested my nutrients and they are off the charts. Likely due to a lack of water change and my bio load. I’ve considered rehoming my two rabbit fish.

Having said that, I added and glued a handful of gorgonian yesterday and it really brings the tank to life, looks nice and natural!

So instead of being a lazy moron and continuing to not do water changes, I’m going to do a water change today.

So yesterday my friend shut down his nano tank and asked if I would take the livestock. I’m already a bit overstocked but the lagoon was a perfect home for his single clownfish. He also had a watchman goby which was perfect to pair with my tiger pistol who hasn’t had a friend for a very long time.

Having said that, I did another big water change today. Gotta keep up with the excess nutrients!

A little Instagram video for your viewing pleasure. I’ve got some plans to change the lagoon around very soon slightly. But let’s enjoy it as it is for now .

Not easy to see in most of my photos but this macro in the Lagoon is so cool!

A great day for reef tank maintenance.

Carbon and filter floss swapped. 35 gallon water change. Also, scraped the glass almost perfectly clean. Feels great.

Took some photos of my Reef Butterflyfish today as well, looking forward to seeing it grow to adult size.

Came downstairs this morning only to find my favourite coral (long polyp toadstool I nicknamed kings crown) melted and destroyed.

Quickly panicked and did a big water change and refreshed carbon.

Well tonight I go downstairs after supper to find another toadstool deleted. This time I notice it has chunks taken out. Well, I sat in front of the tank for an hour to try to catch the culprit. Initially I thought it would be the butterfly…. nope! Filefish came back and was just taking chunks out of it again. Instantly flipped lights off, waited an hour, caught the ******* in his night time sleeping spot. To the sump with you.
