Tastefully done. In time shark will need 400-500 gJust a few pictures of my fowlr tank. 200 gallon in wall. Awesome display for a shark.
Thanks. He is growing slowly so I have some time to think about another tank or trading him for something else. Already have a 350 gallon mixed reef so probably trade him out later. And yes the major is a nice one , thanks.Tastefully done. In time shark will need 400-500 g
Nice big sergeant major damsel !
Thank you, wanted to view from kitchen or office.Agree with the comments above however nice set up and love that rock work!
Thanks for the input. Still working out the compatibility of the group. You're likely going to have problems with the trigger/puffer in the future, trigger you might be okay with, but the puffer will almost definitely nip on that shark's fins. Also browns typically get at least 3' in captivity.
Thanks I’m very happy with the outcomeI see two triggers.
I like the way you mad this 2 room viewable.
I will definitely let you know.Nice tank, kinda agree w above ,rehome the nippers , or the shark ...
PS: shark will outgrow that tank sooner than later ,pm me if need new home...
@Mibu ?Question, what can you tell me about a blue ribbon eel ? Thinking of trading shark
Compared to other eels, these are noodles. Very thin bodied. But so gorgeous.Question, what can you tell me about a blue ribbon eel ? Thinking of trading shark
Thank you for the response. Looking at the fish I have in the aquarium, would the eel do well?Compared to other eels, these are noodles. Very thin bodied. But so gorgeous.
Blue is male, black is juvenile who will convert to male eventually. Female is yellow and last phase of the ribbon eels life. Odd things can take place.
They should be given a pvc pipe tunnel of half of an inch or 1 inch. They can curl into a ball with great ease.
Get one from a collector who doesnt use cyanide.
@Eric Cohen Sold me one extremely healthy and hasn't shown signs of contamination.
They can get to 4ft in length. But keep thin bodied.
If you have any other questions, let me know. I strongly believe the reason for these eels not eating in captivity is due to cyanide.
3/3 ate. All went through a qt in a dark room, but tank lights only.
Sadly, my losses for reasons and fault I can only blame myself for.
Mostly yes. But triggers may nip the dorsal fin of the eel. That's hard to judge. You also have a puffer. That one will most likely do a lot of fin nipping.Thank you for the response. Looking at the fish I have in the aquarium, would the eel do well?
That puffer is the culprit on any corals ( gsp, Xenia…) that I have tried. It’s my wife’s favorite so he stays lolMostly yes. But triggers may nip the dorsal fin of the eel. That's hard to judge. You also have a puffer. That one will most likely do a lot of fin nipping.
My experience with puffers are hit or miss. They either kill tank mates or don't. If you have a back up plan for any extra additions, even a ribbon eel. Why not? That is a lot of elegance to add to any nice sized aquarium. The pvc tunnels add layers of protection for ribbon eels. That puffer is the culprit on any corals ( gsp, Xenia…) that I have tried. That's really bad news for any benthic species. If the puffer is already showing an affinity for soft fleshy coral polyps that a red flag that he will definitely be going after anything that he can that is soft and fleshy, which any shark's fins would be a prime target. That puffer is the culprit on any corals ( gsp, Xenia…) that I have tried.
