@SurfTrack Make sure it’s not sitting on the pipe bulkheads in the back at the overflow. You can damage the tank. You need to have the tank supported off the ground on sides.

Grats on getting it started.
Thank you. I’ve been told this. I have it sitting on a thick blanket. Do you think that is okay?

Realize you weren't asking me, but that thick movers blanket looks pretty good. I used a yoga mat from walmart that was a half inch thick, if that idea helps. It worked great, but the bulkheads left permanent depressions in the sponge of the yoga mat from sitting there a week or two.

Thank you for that quick response. It will only be like that for a couple days at max.

Hi, I just got my 350 this week, what are people using for covers? I accidentally order the wrong size for the DIY screen cover, so I’m contemplating return for the right size, or if there is a different direct I should go. I would appreciate any opinions

Just a note on the GFCI in the first picture. When that thing trips it turns off and stays off. When the power comes back on the GFCI does not reset. What ever is plugged into it after the power comes back on will stay off until you push the reset button.

You want a surge suppressor not a surge protector. Surge protectors shut off and stay off. Surge suppressors stay on during an electrical surge. This video explains it however not all suppressors come with a BBU and since you are getting an Ecotech BBU you wouldn't need a suppressor with a battery.

I wouldn't have a return pump on a battery they draw a lot of power and would suck your batteries down fast.

Ecotech return pumps are made to run off their Battery Back up system. Essentially the pump runs at about 10-15% power when it goes into battery mode. It’s not designed to go full blast, but it keeps things moving and hopfully your tank alive in an emergency. This limp mode also prolongs the battery life.

I ended up just hooking up both BBU together and running both MP10s as i didnt get the booster cable.

Shes filled up and running!!!
12 hours later and shes all filled and waiting for me to add Dr. Tims one and done tomorrow. then waiting 4 months before i add any fish!!
Return pump driver went nuts and had to reset it and do a factory reset, still not trusting it 100%. its not hooked up to my reeflink, just running it a 100% through the driver.
ill post a video as soon as my pc loads it

No need to wait 4 months for fish. If your thinking the 4 month cycle means no fish that’s not accurate from my research. You can add fish at the 2-2.5 mark for the 4 month cycle, as long as your parameters are correct. Just coral typically can’t go in till around 4 mo. The main reason 4 months is used because you’re looking for Coraline algae and it takes about 4 mo it to get going. Also you need to seed some Coraline post initial cycle or it may not show up for much longer.

Fwiw, I’m doing the 4m cycle too so I read and watched the videos over and over. Also asked tons of questions.

Good luck with your system, looking good.

You are 100% correct, I just want to do it that way, once i turn my lights on i can have a tang in there taking care of the algae. i guess its a personal preference

@Salt_for_Brains just a suggestion and that’s all it is. Might I say, you should start your own build thread. This thread is so huge that your posts and updates on your tank will just get buried in the future. Would love to watch your system grow..
