I have never had filter socks before. How often do you replace them? After a week the water overflows overtop my sock. If I rinse it out it only works for a few days. Am I really going to have to buy new filter socks every week? I have the reefer 250.

I replace mine about every four days. I have 12 filter socks or so and I just wash them when several get dirty. Simply toss them in the wash, hot water, heavy wash, extra rinse. NO SOAP, just water. I wash them twice back-to-back. No need to turn them inside out or anything. It will get them nice and clean.

What protein skimmers are you guys running... I have a Bubble Magus Curve 5 on my 250 and its still not producing skimate

There's no reason it shouldn't work. How long has the tank been up and running? Do you have it adjusted correctly? Is it not producing any foam at all in the neck?

I'm running a Nyos Quantum.

I transferred everything from over my 29g a week ago except for the sand, well I did put 3 cups of it. I've been working with the adjustments and can't seem to get it right. It's producing some foam but not at the neck, if I adjustment to where it reaches the neck it starts to overflow

You gotta give it some time let it overflow for a little, i have a vertex omega nd took me about a month to figure it out, nd i still feel like i havnt got it to perform its best yet

Thanks, I just thought I would ask now since I can still return it and get a refund and order a better one!! I want to get the best now so I don't have to replace later on...

Ive seen the bm in action nd it seems everyone has that same issue in the biggining, i mean i wouldnt return it juss gotta give it aome time

I started my first tank about 8 years ago but I knew nothing so luckily my clowns put up with my negligence and have survived... And I have no idea on the rock! Got it from my LFS

Wow, that is AWESOME!! Absolutely love that aquascape and how you customized the sump. Did you make that wood shelf thingy that holds your dosing reservoirs? Can you explain what you got going on there for the intake/filter sock area where the ATO I think usually is? Thanks and great job!

I need to upgrade my flow...currently running 2 Jebao's WP-10. Any suggestions? Was thinking Vortech's just to keep it simple since I'm running 2 Radions and a Vectra. But yet do I go with 2 MP-10's or 1 MP-40...

Before anyone goes crazy, vivid aquariums have all 3 available filter socks not sure how many are left

Those filter socks are way too expensive, Red Sea is crazy lol I just snipped the filter socks I already had that are 25 micron and they fit
Like a charm now
