Mantis shrimp are very cool, but they're not safe for anything.

Mantis shrimp are cool and all, but I love hermit crabs too much to ever keep one.

It is possible however very unlikely. It's like asking why would you want a 200 gallon fish tank if it can leak all over your house. Because they're awesome!!!!!

It is a Pederson's anemone shrimp. The mantis will eat him for sure. I would try to catch the new shrimp and take to to your LFS to get a little bit of credit versus it becoming an expensive snack :)
All the plus, nail on the head.

It's not a pederson shrimp, they are much smaller and have a different body shape and color pattern. It's a Spotted Cleaner Shrimp (Periclimenes yucatanicus).
