Skimmer burps big air bubble

I have a swc 160 skimmer and it burps a big air bubble every 4 sec and has since new. i have tryed relocating position as the cord orig makes it sit crooked. No help. Also as of lately when shut down the pump will only restart out of water. I have taken apart and cleaned once in the two months I have owned it. thanks

that sounds like a pump problem, clean the impeller again and make sure it turns freely on the shaft, how deep is it sitting in water? too low a level will put back pressure on the pump and restrict it

Something isnt right with the pump. How much water is it sitting in? If Your starting it out of water out could be getting air traped in it. Are there air bubbles coming in the chamber its in?
