What are these small black dots appearing on my leptoseris? They seem to show up in the same 3 spots. Some sort of polyp extension? Maybe some kind of worm? Or just a fold where it is growing?
Sorry for the poor picture... Phone camera sucks.

Spots can be seen on lower middle, left and right edges.
Thoughts?

Hard to tell from the pictures but I would suspect some type of injury/damage. You might be able to get a more helpful picture under white light.

Beautiful lepto! Let's see if any of the guys 'n gals have any ideas. #reefsquad

I can’t really tell but that‘s how my LPS grow around my vermatid snails. If it is a vermatid, there should be a hard tube with possible strands of mucous coming out the end. I’m hoping I‘m wrong. :)

It better not be vermetids! I thought that at one point, but haven't seen any mucous come out of them.
If it is, can I super glue the tubes shut with them in the middle of the lepto?

Yep. I have some success doing that. I’m always worried my fish picking at the glue. Good luck.

I have actually had that happen recently with an acro. The acro encrusted over the vermeted and it actually looks like and is functionally a new branch beginning.

The spots really seem to come and go. Maybe just shadows in the folds from polyp extension?

Update:
Not vermetid snails. One of my emerald crabs is damaging it.
Think its safe to move the lepto to my new bigger tank?
Its cycling now, (6 days in) but I don't think the ammonia will hurt it... All other parameters are in good shape.
I would move the crab, but nowhere else to put it and it will most certainly be affected by the elevated ammonia in the big tank right now.

Thoughts?
