small trigger in a 60 gallon cube?

Hey everyone,

So in aprox 3 weeks I'm going to upgrade my existing tank, (that has been up for eight years) to a new deep blue 60 gallon cube. I've always loved triggers but my tank has been to small, now that I'm upgrading is it possible for me to keep one in the new tank?

Filefish are like triggers and many would fit in your tank. Radial filefish are my favorite, there's also a species that eats pest anemones.

You could keep a small pink-tailed, white-tailed, or Lei trigger in there for a little while but I think he'd outgrow it eventually. Pink-tails grow slow.

IMO no trigger is a 100% "reef safe" in that although they may leave coral alone small fish and crustaceans could be on the menu....but most triggers from the family Xanthichthys like the Blue throat or Red tail are probably the safetest short term in your tank because they will outgrow it in a couple of years or sooner...
