Hey everyone so a few days ago I saw spots on my purple tang but it was only on one side of the tang. Today I see similar on my sailfin tang just one side. I don’t notice any scratching or weird behavior from both fish. My powder blue, blonde Naso, chocolate tang and other fish don’t have anything on them. I’m not sure if it’s maybe fighting or they got stung by something?

Are both fish impacted on the same sides, or opposite sides?
I think both are on the same side. The purple tang is showing spots on the other side but not as much. Last week one side on the purple was completely clean now I see specs of white

Im suspecting post injury based on type of spots on both sides and also on eyes. Are you able to post a video of at least 20 seconds under brighter white light intensity- no blue?

Im suspecting flukes (neobendendia) based on type of spots on both sides and also on eyes. Are you able to post a video of at least 20 seconds under brighter white light intensity- no blue?
Additionally, is fish still eating and breathing labored or normal?
How do other fish look?
If parasitical, ich will increase in number this time tomorrow as well as location on the fish. With flukes, you will see scratching/rubbing, yawning and sudden darting and loss of appetite
I posted a video but it won’t show on here for some reason posting videos on reef2reef never works. My one spot fox face has a pump on one side looks like a big pimple but other than that’s all the fish seem okay. I don’t see any spots on their bodies or fins

the pimple like cyst often a result of healing from injury or infection. Maintain optimum water parameters and diet. If it gets larger, treat in separate tank using seachem kanaplex or neoplex. Kanaplex is absorbed by the fish and would be effective

Tang, it can be flukes (neobendendia) but too large for ich. Ich if so, will increase in numbers every 24 hours and also location on fish. Try a 5 min freshwater dip as if flukes , some will drop off seen on bottom of container

It’s going to be hard pulling these guys out of the tank for a fresh water dip. should I dose some prazipro? Or keep an eye on it looks like it’s just the zebrasoma tangs

Prazi - Yes you can. Add aeration using air stone and dose at 85% of recommended dosage and allow prazi to run for 8 days, do a water change and add one more dosage for an 8 day duration

Would a skimmer and surface agitation be enough? And should be fine dosed into the tank with corals? I don’t have any inverts besides urchins

I prefer airstone which provides good surface exchange and water movement

Could be ich, might also be blanching t the site where flukes are attached.

Are the fish scratching, flashing or flicking their fins?

I would try to “map” the location of the spots in a photo, then take a photo the next day - if the spots change location and numbers day to day, it may be ich. If the same spots are in the same location over a few days, it is flukes or some skin injury.

The fish aren’t new they’ve been in the tank for a year the whole setup it new 1 year old. They were all quarantined and treated for flukes and ich when I first got them for 30 days in copper and general cure. I know it’s possible go introduce ich into the system from corals. But how likely is that?

The fish don’t show any scratching, flashing. They’re going about their business grazing on the rocks and they’re feeding normally. I don’t want to go through the whole hassle of disassembling the aqua scape unless I need too. None of my other tangs (blonde naso, tomini, powder blue mimic) seem to have anything on them puffer, trigger, clown fish marine betta and one spot fox face have any spots. Just my purple tang and sailfin have spots.

Is it possible that maybe it from them fighting?
