I was wondering if certain branching SPS corals such as monti digi can encrust on the back glass? I picked up a nice frag with really good encrusting base and my placement for it has it touching the back glass. Do SPS ever encrust onto the glass or just rock formation?

I have a purple stylophora that has touched the glass, and is uncrusting on the glass. Been that way for about 2 years now, Just keep spreading out, never branches. Have a patch about 3 inches wide now(recently scraped it all off), but it used to cover half the back glass.

I have a Hollywood Stunner that is starting to encrust on the glass but it is laying on the glass and not growing vertically. It took about 6 weeks to get to a point that it wouldn't move in the current.

I also have purple stylophora that is spreading everywhere in the tank - including the back glass, rocks (of course) and also near the return intake area. It's almost like a weed. I usually just hack them off and sometimes place frags in another of my tanks..
