I came home from the beach last night to this-
IMG_0680-1.jpg

Normally the torches have their tentacles out at least 3 inches, but last night this one head had all it's tentacles pulled in and from the center, these hair-like strings where out about 3-4 inches. They fell off and floated away after 10-15 minutes.
All the LPS in the tank are very happy, and today seem fine, including the head that was acting weird last night. Does anyone know what was going on?

I've seen this before too but I'm still not sure what it is.

It is the coral expelling excess zooanthellae. Did you by chance leave the lights on a little longer than normal?

nope, i didn't. i'm horrible at turning the lights on and off at the same times, but i have noticed that if i forget in the evening and leave 'em onreally late they pull in/close up.
