Stressed out hammers!

I’m not too sure what’s going on here, I have had this hammer coral for more than 6 months. This hammer has been healthy and has not thrown any signs of distress before. Yesterday however I noticed that this hammer had begun to close. I thought after some time it would open back up. However I come back today and see it’s still closed and in fact showing it’s mouth. The mouth is open and I know this can be a large sign of stress.

Is it fixed to the rock? They will suffer if they get bumped around.

What are your parameters?

If you parameters are in the range and stable then all I can think is.....

Someone bump that coral? Someone having lunch?
The third pic looks munched....
Hungry hermits.? A fish?

I just tested these are the parameters

Nitrite -0ppm
Nitrate- 160ppm (crazy)
Ammonia - 0.50ppm
PH- 8.0
Calcium- 500 mg/L(ppm)
KH- 1dkh
Phosphate- 0.25 ppm

The Nitrates are crazy but last week they were normal. The hammer is not fixed to a rock, however I noticed it fell and I put it back.

What is the coral below it? Cause if that coral has a long enough reach with its sweepers, it could be attacking the hammer.

1 dKH would be the problem. Is that a typo for 10 or 11? Also if the hammer fell on those heads, they may just die from the damage.

Yes, the dkh is 11

Frags that move around or fall often don’t survive long term. Coral grows attached to a reef, it can break off and move and live if it lands in a good spot but often being dislocated is a death sentence.
