I've had my Tiger Conch for about 2 years. For the first 8 months, he hid himself multiple times for 5 or 6 weeks and then for a few days I'd see him stumbling around the tank and then he would disappear again. He disappeared 14 months ago and I never saw him again. I figured he died under the sand somewhere. Fast forward to a month ago. My now gigantic 14 inch Engineer Goby has really picked up the 'engineering' and started digging out things all over the place, filling it in and digging somewhere else. I noticed the side of a pink shell wedged inside the little cave where my Pistol Shimp lived until he died a few weeks back after he was evicted by the Goby. I have tons of extra shells so I didn't think much of it, but upon shining a flashlight in the hole, I see the eye and proboscis of the Conch!! I saw him go back into his shell so he's alive and well. The next day he was flipped over so now I can only see the shell. I can't see the back side of the rocks to know if he's actually stuck or could get out.
Has anyone had this happen? I sort of want to try to get something L shaped and try to push him out but not sure if I should or even could. Really crazy he's possibly been living stationary for over a year.
