Please ignore the mess in the background

I have 4 separate islands in a sense. The left side of the tank is where my overflow is as well as where the outtake is.

Tank is 7 x 2 x 2.
Table is 72 in max. Green tape is the max of the 2 ft. Max height is at about 17 in.

Wanting softies and lps

I like it.
Lots of caves and places for the fish to dart around.
tank going to be bare bottom or sand?
it has sand ! I have some more flat pieces that I am going to use as a base to possibly heighten the middle ones. As well as make them more stable

What all should I glue? In my small tank the snails knocked over a lot of rock. But I also hear / see people noting that they have had to pull rock to pull corals out.

I would glue everything. Just make it into multiple structures…four or five and then you can slide them next to each other in the tank and it will look like one.

Since the rock is dry look into 2 part reef safe epoxy puddy. I got mine from petco. You rip a chunk off, kneed it up in your fingers and push it into the rock like playdoh. Then take loose sand and push it into the puddy anywhere that is visible. to help give it a natural texture and will blend better once coraline grows

I have never had luck with supergluing the rock. I also take a 3/8" masonry drill bit and drill a bunch of holes in strategic locations to mount frag plugs.

I didnt even think about the frag plugs !! Thank you

I have superglue(s), epoxy and mortar as well as the quick dry spray. I may pick up more epoxy

Another thing I have done is if you have a tile saw you can cut rock in half and use silicone to glue the flat parts against the back of the tank, also having drilled holes for mounting corals.

i am actually doing this tonight with a couple pieces to have a home for my two large hammer colonies away from wandering BTA when the tank is back up

If you cut it with a wet saw let the rock dry fior a day before you silicone, ie make sure it’s dry

Ooh I like that, that would help build up the height / dimensions!!

Yea, my tank is very rock heavy toward the center and wanted to keep as much sand bed as I can, would like to ad a ray one day.

So glueing to the back will allow me a place to grow out some larger colonies eventually
