My power went out 5:00 this morning and I had to get the key to disconnect the cable to open the door. I decided to test my car battery jumper on it.

I just plugged my garage door motor into this battery jumper and all is well. The thing stays plugged in the wall anyway and if I need it, I just plug the door motor into the outlet on the wall.
This thing may even be cheaper than a UPS system that needs to put out at least 500 watts. 😁

Now I can open my garage in a blackout and I have emergency lights all over the place so I can see what I'm doing. 😎

My friend Atoll. What are you doing there? Did the king kick you or something?

How are you feeling?
I will look just like that in 6 days but you may be a little better looking than me. 😳 Feel better, your fish need you.

Am just lying in this bed watching all the super model nurses attend to me. There are a few stunners here. I had to have an operation due to mens problems of the urine nature you understand. My wife is feeding the fish etc but in truth she knows little. I have left instructions but she stumbles over them. I have put frozen food cubes in daily feeding boxes and showed her how to top up my ATU reservoir but I need to be home. If I am lucky I will be allowed to go home later on today if not ???? The super model nurses will miss me of course but needs must.

OMG that is horrible except for the Supermodels of course. I will also have to spend one night in the hospital but even though I asked, they wouldn't let me pick out the nurses. They actually drew straws to see who will not take care of me. 🙄

After 38 surgeries, many of the nurses that took care of me for my first surgery in the 60s are all great grandmothers now. But I still like them because they are all still a lot younger than I am and maybe some of them have a fish tank. 😀

I had to drive 50 miles today to the hospital for them to give me a sling. There was a huge accident on the highway so it took me a half an hour longer. I walked in and they handed me a sling in a plastic bag.

I said, Like Duh! Couldn't you just give me this on one of the other 4 visits I have to make to come here just so the doctors, insurance and lawyers can get paid? It's just so stupid. As I said, I had so many shoulder surgeries that I could do it myself if I could stand my screaming. 😳

If we could eliminate the lawyers this would be so much more simple, cheap and un-stupid. 😎

They have let me out but we are stuck in the mother of all traffic jams. Wouldn't be so bad if they sent a super model nurse with me to do things I may have to do myself. I can't really say what on here you will have to use your imagination. 😉 Luckily enough I took a little something to help me... let's say to relieve the situation if we are stuck for quite a while which is looking more like it at the moment unfortunately 😕 oh the joys of being a geezer and growing old 😢

I think he means his "dosing pump" was malfunctioning and they had to reboot the wifi. Then just to be on the safe side he brought a "quarantine" tank in case of any signs of "illness". Seriously folks, i hope @atoll is home safe and feeling better and your tank survived the interruption, and that @Paul B's surgery goes well and and you can continue to help carry your wife around the deck of many ferries in the future! Paul is a great storyteller!

CORRECT! in fact the QT tank had to be used twice on the journey home 😉 there is s bit of water additive mixed in from the surgery.
Good job I used to be in the boy scouts and be prepared was our moto. If I hadn't I would have been dib dib dibbing all the way home. Nice to home now esp as I didn't sleep a wink all night..I'll miss the super model nurses though. 😴

Yes, unfortunately. And we are turning them out in droves. 🙄

Today, after my stupid hospital trip, I put away my patio furniture and covered it. Power washed the deck and washed the outside windows. Re-potted some plants and brought them into my workshop under grow lights. I have one more day off without anything stupid to do so I am mixing up water for a water change tomorrow because I won't have the use of my right arm for a couple of months so now when I pass a pretty girl, I make my wife wave to her. 🤣

You forgot about the pinching part.

wow.. i saw your thread some time back and thought „dang… 47+ years“ just to realize today the thread is another 14 years old!! crazy! congratulations on that, true inspiration right there!

Thanks, MaDa Aquariums. A couple of years ago, I was in Austria. We took one of those riverboat cruises and I loved it.

Tonight we had a little disaster but living with someone with MS this happens all the time and it could have been much worse. My wife was cooking, and she had some goopy thing in the microwave and was heating it up. It was very watery. We were having friends over for dinner.

I worked all day putting patio furniture away and doing things that I won't be able to do after my surgery next week so she didn't want to bother me. She took the casserole dish out of the microwave that is up high and poured it all over her face. She didn't burn her eyes, thank God, but now looks to have a tan.

It was very painful, so she kept putting cold water on her face. Of course, I ran out to help her.
After hitting her face, the rest of the liquid went on the stove and shorted out the console, so the thing said :
"Call for service". But I fixed that. She is much better now, but she is not very happy. MS makes her right hand and right leg numb so she can't tell how tight she is holding something.

This new shoulder surgery is going to be a real challenge, mostly for her, and it is a little frightening.

Sorry to hear.

Supermodels make house visits Paul. Maybe hire one for a few weeks until the shoulder is back in business? Maybe even for a few hours a day or evenings to cook and help your wife so that you can heal.

I wish I were closer, I may not be a supermodel, but would happily eat bacon for you… I mean give you a hand while you recover.

Thank you. Just rest now. Am.not to over do things which is against my nature just to take it easy.
Paul, you wife was lucky indeed. Will you have help coming in to assist after your surgery?

Bean, I know you really want to come here to steal one of my copper fish. 😳

Atoll, I hope your feeling better. I know what hospital stays feel like so I know your home feels much better.

Our friend Sue will be coming here for 2 days to help my wife. I will have an ice machine connected to my shoulder and you have to fill the thing with ice every few hours and someone has to put duct tape over my mouth to lower the volume of my screaming. 😬

Sue is the wife of our closest friend who died from Covid when it first came out and I know her longer then my wife. She is like family and I would do anything for her.

That was probably from my last surgery. We speak to her almost every day and after 5 years she is still having a hard time getting over her husband's death, as I am also.

When my wife called me to tell me he had died, I was driving and almost went off the road. He had Covid but was nowhere near death, so it was a shock.

Luckily, we have very good friends who will help my wife. I know people will be bringing us food and helping with things like throwing out the garbage and driving my wife to doctor appointments.

Most of the "issues" happen at night when she falls or spills boiling water on herself. I won't be able to help her get off the floor so I assume she will be sleeping on the floor quite often. 🙄 I will have to wear the sling for 2 weeks even while sleeping and the thing has a cushion in the thing that keeps my elbow away from my body like 4" so it is rather uncomfortable. I had the same stupid thing the last time when they replaced my other shoulder.

I think lawyers invented that thing just to torture people. 😠

Hopefully that wont happen again but should have used warm water not cold that prevents blistering ask one of your medical people. Do your physio and dont push it sir
