Hello!

I have a 55 gallon tank drilled and connected to a 150 gallon Rubbermaid tub. It has been running with nothing but RO water for about 2-3 months because I never got around to working on it more. To clarify, there has been a heater and very good circulation the whole time, but not anything else in the system.

Now that I've actually got around to working on it, I've noticed an extreme amount of what I would describe as slime in the sump and DT. I googled around but couldn't really find a good answer. What is this slime? How throughly should I work to remove it before adding salt and dry rock to cycle?

The suds in the sump make it hard to see the slime on the shelf of the tub. The suds also seem new, not sure what is going on here?
