Last night on our kitchen counter next the spices, a sealed plastic container sat with what I believed was dried peppermint....it was not quite dried black trumpet mushrooms. There was fungus growing on fungus.
LOL! It's cannibalizing!

I would just like to say, I had a smoked turkey last night. First time I’ve ever said “I like this turkey”. The game we had to was crazy. It was a bourbon sweet ham. It was incredible! (Should’ve gotten pictures but completely forgot)

You can see the steam coming off of it!

My party of 11+ whittled it's way down to 6 due to weather and exhausted new parents.

The plan was 5pm, but didn't eat until 7 pm since guests were slow because of snow.

We have plenty of leftover turkey...and wine.

LOL! Mine whittled down too! We did our best but had a lot left. Yes it was steaming hot. Best part was watching am 18 month old eating Cajun and not being bothered, and my 6 year old grandson being handed half a crab and going to town after I was told he wouldn't eat crab:face-with-tears-of-joy:

My ex and I alternate the years we have the kids at Thanksgiving. This year was her year, so it was just my wife, 8 year old son, MiL, and SiL.

We started doing prime rib several years ago when we don’t have the other kids + other family because we all think turkey is pretty meh. This year my MiL offered to buy the prime rib. Apparently my SiL will only eat grass-fed organic beef, and apparently my MiL spent $340 on the piece of meat.

I offered to cook it, but my MiL told me to relax and she would handle it. I should have insisted, because when it was done and I cut into it, it was pretty much:

You have to go one day with as many people as you can muster. The table will look just like my photo. It's better food at home but a lot of work so the restaurant will be more fun especially with no clean up :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

we have 2 restaurants right next to each other that probably shouldn't be. The Tilted Kilt right next to the Shaking Crab :face-with-rolling-eyes:
