I have actually but I never see them anymore, I also saw a stunning Cypho purpurascens which I would love if I could combat the risk of aggression. If you’ve never seen one then here’s a photo I got of this beauty :)

The colours on this guy were beautiful, in your tank i bet it wouldn’t be highly aggressive, I say go for it!

I’ve always found dottyback’s to be so charming and beautiful but the aggression just doesn’t do it for me. I’m very cautious and worried that if I pull that trigger I will regret it.

Fun little story: I fell in love with dottybacks ever since I was a little kid. I remember once going to SeaWorld with my grandparents when I was about 8 I think, and I saw 2 Neon Dottybacks in one of the little spy bubbles kids can go ‘into’ the tank with. They were so pretty! On that day lol, I vowed to myself, once I got a Saltwater Tank, that I WILL get one. So many years later, and I finally have a Saltwater tank, that thought hasn’t left my mind. Now because they are aggressive, I will not add one to my current tank. But I will, as I promised myself those many years ago, that once I get a smaller tank, or at least a larger nano, he would be the showpiece!

Hope I didn’t bore you lol.

That’s actually a really interesting story, and the most mild aggression dottybacks I know of is Pseudochromis fridmani :)

Idk where I saw it, but I saw one of the Blacam Neon’s hosting a Goni lol. He would protect it too.

again, I saw a glimpse of my yasha
So do you think I should maybe get a Yasha? Not with a shrimp though. I was thinking of getting a Jawfish but I like the idea of a little goby better. Also less bio load.

I would personally go that way yes!
I absolutely love my yasha although you may not see yours 24/7.

Well, it’s the morning for me and lights have been on for I believe an hour and a half now. I saw 2 of the Pink Streaks!
This gives me some hope of the third still being around just slightly more reclusive. Here’s a photo of I believe the larger one (I tried to get a photo of the smaller one but she tucked in too fast by the time I got the photo).

And the new rockscape FTS (I will glue down the loose corals today so don’t worry about them).

And just because I can now get a much better photo of the Maxima’s mantle here’s some clam spam :)

And @Miami Reef I know you’re interested in this coral and it’s surprising as it’s been growing under a dark spot that got almost no light until I moved it.

That’s my favorite coral you have!

It is turning a bright green! It’s stunning. Guard that baby with your life, ok, Aaron?

Where did you buy ur rock from?
I bought 3 dry pieces of rock from The Ocean Project but then some of the LR came from an LFS in Norfolk - Blue Sea Aquatics. The rest of the LR is decades old in my care at this point. I believe some of it is actually coming up to 15 years in ‘captivity’.

KP Aquatics have chalk bass sometimes but they are wild caught. Every fish I have ever gotten from them has been a picture of health however.

I went back to the further LFS because I left a bag of test kits and food there, I then queried that black acro and guess what;
He said mine actually looks better than the ones he had haha. Supposedly, it’ll go golden so I am excited about it.
Here’s a photo of a frag of the same coral they had against mine :)

Just did a test of Phosphate and Nitrates, both are incredibly low.
Nitrates are at 0.2
Phosphates are at 0.04
I believe this could just be because I did an abnormally large WC last night though.
