Also, just got this photo. Interesting to see him out 2 hours later than usual, I wonder if they’re similar to the Griessingeri and do take a week or so to get used to the lighting.

Well, I picked up something else from the LFS today after chatting, one for this tank and one for the 4’ tank. It was a Montipora setosa for this tank, the blenny decided to nip it twice so I’m not too eager for it to survive. I’ve now got the montipora rock growing nicely, just to figure out how to deal with the issue of the colonial polyps on that rock.

Something else that’s intriguing is how the Trimma tevegae was out when I got back with the monti.

Update on the setosa, bleached more than it was earlier.
Maybe the dip (I dipped it for 10 minutes in Ti Tree Oil) managed to weaken it but I don’t quite know. Hopefully I can help this guy make a comeback.

Well, very little hope is left on the setosa. The other guys are all happy as can be even though my film algae grows is ridiculously fast.

Why did you dip it in tea tree oil?
It was an LFS that I barely know and just wanted to double check for pests.
With the other SPS I didn’t dip as I knew the place they were coming from was trust worthy as I knew the owner previously.
I don’t think I’ll dip any more SPS and will look into CUC that may be able to help with any pests that could pop up. This was the other issue, I don’t have any fish known for eating hitchhikers - Leopard wrasses are a 50/50 but aren’t known for it.

I’m not suggesting to not dip. I just never heard of tea tree being used as a coral dip.

I have good results with coral rx. I never lost an acro from it.

I wonder if dipping it for 10 minutes was a bit long, although it did get a strange worm out of the leather it was dipped with.

These are photos from yesterday that I forgot to post. Unfortunately I can’t get any more for the next few days as I’m away from the tank.
Here’s some update photos on the Purple Slimer.

And the GSP yesterday was being strange. Anyone know if these are like leathers in which they shed?

A while ago I was scrolling through old photos of my previous tanks (FW and SW). Here’s a couple photos of what I believe to have been my first nano that grew anything and everything.

Mithrax crab.JPG

Now I can grow very little! I know right, this tank thrived with coral growth and everything and now I can’t grow too much in my 4’ tank. Strangely enough my nanos have always done better than the larger tanks have.

Well I got back… The rhodactis mushroom that was hiding in a small cave and was about half an inch across re-emerged, It’s Atleast 1.5 inches across!

and here’s the slimer update :)

I may try grabbing some snails as the film algae growth is Atleast every 2 days after scraping its back and fighting. Purely due to the morning sun through my window going directly into the tank. Any recommendations on CUC I should look out for would be great, so far the only ones I know that do a relatively decent job are trochus and astrea snails.

Not much to update on however there may be this weekend ;)
Going to my “Acropora Dealer” and seeing what they’ve got, saved up some money for this tank to see if it’s just this one type of acropora I can grow. Keep an eye out as I’m pretty certain I’ll be coming home with something even if it’s not one of the “few” I want!
In the meantime, I figured this was quite interesting to see. I know E. lineatus changes pattern a ton and I’ve never seen one the exact same as another specimen however it’s intriguing to see how the colours really change quite a bit when they sleep!

Also, that weird patchiness seems to be on and off with this guy, doesn’t appear to affect him it just goes one day and appears randomly another day.

Im not even joking when I say this, my GSP is retracting and dying but my SPS (Especially the acro) is loving it! Also enjoy the new growth photos :)

Its so strange, it’s like it was doing great but suddenly dead, strange… I keep seeing warnings this would be a weed of the ocean too!
Well, Atleast I can now have more growth space as it’s a rock on the back wall, maybe I can get a plating SPS up there? Maybe some monti would look nice.

I’ll be checking them later today, however they remain close to .5.

Also here’s some more photos from today!
Not much to update on since yesterday. Enjoy the FTS (Not too good as my film algae growth is hell)

This may be the worst scape I have ever done - I had to remove the rocks to get detritus that was collecting and couldn’t remember what it looked like at the start. I ended up trying to mimic a natural reef (The rocks are mainly flat with a ton of caves). All the fish are doing great - None are stressed, unfortunately the yasha night hate me for ruining his cave

Thankyou! The naokoae is one of my favourite wrasses due to it being my very first fairy wrasse I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t have a large enough tank without one now.
