Over the moon excited about this little guy!
The damsel has been chasing him a bit but I think it should subside by the morning.

really? I read that blueface even though shy, tend to be more aggressive and a *****.

gorgeous tank!! the blueface looks incredible!
When I sold the tank I sold both of my Blue Face, Chrysurus, and Imp, only keeping the Regals and Flames. The Imperator I felt was always more aggressive than the BF. But every fish is different. Also the Regal and the BF are different Genus, so maybe why I never had an issue, add a Narvarchus and it might be a problem?

Can anyone please tell me what sex these 3 flame angels are? Sold to me as a trio but I don’t know if they are a true trio or just 3 fish. Thanks

To me the largest on the bottom is male and the other two are female - The pointy fins are an indicator, the more pointy then it’s male but rounded ones are females.
The attached image is not mine however it’s a pair of flames (Male on the left, female on the right)

I've never owned an angelfish, but this thread make potential coral-nipping worth it!

I'll be upgrading to a 60"L x 25"W x 24"H tank next year. Any input on the aggression level and relative reef safe-ness of the following? And would you recommend mixing 2-3 angels, or keep it singularly to reduce aggression? Other fish will be smaller (<5") and peaceful.

- Multibar angelfish
- Regal angelfish
- Blueline angelfish
- Goldflake angelfish

The Regal is my favorite and are very slow growers normally. I did have one juvy that broke that mold and grew faster than normal. In February the Maldives Regal's start becoming available. Medium Juveniles are the hardiest and acclimate very well.

In the time I have had them they have grown very little. Regals are not free swimming angels like an imperator that swims back and forth across the tank. They stay in the rocks for the most part. If they get to 8" no I will have to rehome them and replace them with juveniles again. Selling a Regal angel fish that is eating well at any one of my LFS is extremely easy.

Imperator is most active and the boldest. I compare them to Oscars, they see you they know food is coming. My adult blueface was very bold also. Some days I miss my 310 and my large angels, but my schedule and life style didn't have time for the maintenance for it. Its funny how some are with their dogs and cats, with me its my fish. My wife always says I care more for my fish than her, well my fish don't scream at me?
