Baby Andrew was born 6-14 at 0027. 5# 12oz. It was a rough start but he is off O2 and I expect his first meal to be today but later.

Edit: clearer picture.

This is the only time you get a pass for posting a hairy chest pic on this forum with cuteness like that attached to it. :winking-face-with-tongue:

Glad things are going well!

It'll get easier. Everyday is a bit easier than the next. Until teen years. Worry about that later.

My sister had a preme and he gastrointestinal birth defect. So as soon as he was born, there was no time for clean up. He was rushed right into the NICU. He wasn't the only one that year with that birth defect either.

It's hard. It does get easier after the first year. The first year, is the hardest.

My advice. I don't have kids so take it with a grain of salt. You are going to do things "wrong". As long as you make every choice and every decision with the best interest of the family in mind that's all that matters. Kids are amazing at adapting and evolving into an environment. It's all going to be OK. Oh and teach them either sign language or Mandarin as a second language.

Both our boy's were C section. Andrew was in the lowest decile for birth weight. Now he is very fit and an arborist (tree climber) and good dad! Thomas is a Bioengineering graduate and has a master's in Data Science! Your Andrew will be fine as well! Just amazing how current medical technology has made so much possible! I believe in God and the power of prayer as well so prayers for you and your new family! Love has found you in a new way! Congratulations again!

You’ll learn so much and care more than you ever thought possible about poop, how much, how often, the consistency etc… :winking-face-with-tongue:

Hope things are improving.
Better now. Had a talk with the nurse practitioner about frustrations and they had helped.

Also, he should be good to go home Monday, barring any issues new issues. He's eating, gained weight, off meds. Now just temp regulation and milk production.

Ask for a Lactation consultant if they haven't already sent one in.

Wow missed this one. Sorry. Do I then need to speak Mandarin? What about Norwegian?

Milk production is a whole different story. I wont go into details. They should send someone in who can explain everything to your wife.

Mom usually adapt to baby's needs.

Ask for a Lactation consultant if they haven't already sent one in.

We've seen 3 or 4 different ones. They have given us a lot of attention.
