Yes. I've seen it both ways. Depends on how quickly they grow. I've watched hair algae destroy a Mystic Sunset and I've watched a different Mystic Sunset grow over hair algae and another it.

Rather quickly for me. I moved a chuck a couple of weeks ago, the one I gave to @Fish Styx, and it had left new growth behind Saturday. Not counting the new that stayed attached to the chunk.

block him from the food? there's a lot available in there; maybe I can set up a cleaning tank. 10 gallons of water, rock with an aip and a starved dumb dumb.

Not sure about the availability of a stand. There is probably someone local who can make one, or you can order pre-cut t-slot aluminum. If you can build Ikea furniture, you could get the stand.

lost the foxface yesterday. no idea why.

Surprise death

I haven't been able to test water chemistry yet, but this morning I got a text early saying my foxface is dead. He was taken out of the tank at that point and when I got home here is what he looked like. Any idea what happened? There are scales missing but no evidence of battles, to my novice...
