Here is an example when a child does something and the parent, or parents, do what is natural. Parent. My better half being a bed side nurse in the PICU sees both sides of this when parents parent and some don't. It is, well, rather sad because you can connect that to a lot of the larger issues today in the world not related to C19.

Parents parent.
Families support.
Politicians govern.

So much wasted energy is spent on things that are non productive such as protesting on a field, playing multiple anthems when we are trying to be united, half in the locker room, half on the field...yet not one dang dime is spent on a commercial to educate listening to authority or how police and communities can interact and respect one another.

Sorry to get side ways here but it all to me at least fits together. Parents and families parent, teach, and love. When that doesn't happen we end up in this mess. And the simple fact "he popped off (which I am guessing wasn't even probably that bad)" and a normal corrective action or talk probably resolved the issue.

I'm sure I'm making this a bigger issue than need be and I also threw in Thurs.NFL (which I didn't watch due to my own protest of politics and sports) but in my crazy brain it all seems to zero back into the family and missing values by some which no one wants to address...

I'm chit chatting and I probably shouldn't be.

Edit: I'm going to go drink some Kool-Aide and not the kind that Rev Jim Jones offers...
Well this need a response. I see this all the time in my line of work. I see kids left alone that shouldn't (dcfs was notified) I see dysfunctional families and my heart breaks for the kids. I see really good parents as well. When the family breaks down kids make thier own family. This void is not usually filled by good people. The cycle starts all over again. Than we wonder why society is a mess

This is a place for chit chat. I get what you mean. I saw a woman that has an exotic monkey, yet never keeps her daughter, and gets EBT. Blessings in a backpack- free food for people already getting free food! I'm confused about a lot. Forgive me, but I'm overly tired and watched the abuse of free healthcare in the ER for hours yesterday.

Fingers crossed for my checkride to be Tuesday/Wednesday
I’m ready to get this license done!
how dare you break radio silence here:p ..GOOD LUCK.."ACE" you got this;)

We have a mountain lion running around...I’m 15 miles east of St. Louis, MO.
DNR just caught a bobcat MALE- 103 lbs this morning behind a neighbors house. I didnt believe her until she showed me her phone- I had to take pics of that

Update. Well, things didn’t exactly go as planned with our return to our beat up town.

We got to my mom’s house and the power was definitely on - for maybe 15 minutes. It went out for about two hours and when it came back on, the central a/c would not turn on. Called for an a/c technician but predictably could not get one here in the midst of Armageddon. One did agree to come in the morning. Maybe. So, we are spending the night in my dad’s old shop that has a small window unit that hasn’t been turned on in 10 years. We have cold air and cramped quarters. But, some people are actually having to sleep in tents. We are much better off.

And if that was not enough of a surprise, since the power was off for 15 days, the well pump lost it’s prime. So, while I am standing in the front doorway dialing the phone number for the well service, I look up and one of their trucks pulled up in the street directly in front of the house. I ran out to flag them down and within 20 minutes they had the pump going again. We have been so lucky on some stuff and not so lucky on others. Hopefully they can get the a/c going in the morning and things will closer to normal at my mom’s house.

Still no power at my house. The electrician has tried to get down my road several time but Entergy has had it blocked off. Today there was a crane on my street. The power line pulled away from my house when the pole on the street fell, that has to be repaired by an electrician (who will have to cut my service line to facilitate repairs) and Entergy will have to reconnect me, which they will do when they restore power to the neighborhood.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. Tomorrow is another day. :-)

I'm HVAC contractor, we're getting 100-300 calls most days... Hope it get done.

Things are starting to look brighter for you!
Thanks. A little. I haven’t been back to my place in three days though. Things to do there as well. If we can get the a/c fixed at my mom’s it will make things easier still. One day at a time.

If you ever wondered how I got to be such an old curmudgeon, I come by it honestly. My 85 year old mother standing looking at the hurricane debris in her yard said, “Whose insulation is that and what is it doing in my yard?!? :-)
