Lunare. She's the fattest and fastest
Is your lunare still chill? I've just added back my T.quinquevittatum and T.nigrofasciatum to my T.lutescens after a week in the sump. Previously they would both bully the lutescens, but it seems like he's the boss of them now. Fortunately he's super chill and doesn't really chase them. My dream is to add 2-3 more Thalassoma, ideally some nice imported ones like T.lucasanum,T.genivittatum and T.newtoni but if i can't get those i might have to settle for the remaining australian species T.lunare and T.hardwicke, but i've heard more stories about those 2 being aggressive compared to other species.

Randomly found this page on a wholesalers website, it's listed as H.claudi but it's clearly a Thalassoma, and a hybrid at that. I think it's either T.purpureum x T.rueppeli, or less likely T.trilobatum x T.quinquevittatum. Very cool, and wouldn't get as big as either purpureum or trilobatum

Looks more like a juvenile Trilobatum that’s in the transition phase - but, Thalassoma isn’t a genus I know too much about as they’ve never striked as a nice genus to me.

I got a decent photo of my Choati baby today, she’s gorgeous. I’ve had some issues with my coral in this tank as I forgot to turn the heater on 2-3 days ago after doing a water change. So it’s now trying to get them back on track again but the fish are happy as can be still!

I spotted the Vivian in the 5 foot today, she’s weak but she’s doing better than she was in the nano that’s for sure. I’m hoping that the twistii comes out but may go digging in the sand in a couple days as it’s been a good week which isn’t usual for twistii IME. I’ve had them previously in both the LFS and my own tank where they are out within 4-5 days of hitting the system - this girl is over a week in and still no signs.

What's your definition of nice? Them being right ******s inarguable but some species are very pretty. Pavo and lutescens for example

Honestly, there’s only one species I’d consider owning and that’s the lucasanum.
Generally, their colours are vibrant yes but they just don’t look right to me (some of the colours just don’t mix all that well) plus they’re overall nasty in behaviour.

No, it definitely isn't a pure T.trilobatum. Females are a mottled greyish colour, so if it were mid transition you'd still see some of that colour. Male trilobatum are also never red and cyan, they're green and orange. Trilobatum also don't have stripes on the face, and remember T.trilobatum reach over a foot in length, the smallest males i've seen were already around 6 inches and length and you can see compared to the rubble below it the fish in the picture is significantly smaller than that.

I was able to get the Exquiste to come out during a feeding:

Not sure what is protruding off his back fin there

My fiji exquisite was doing the same thing for about 9 days. It was a slow decline, but it showed interest in feeding. It didn't make it unfortunately.

I was able to net him and tried to help but wasn’t getting any better. Seemed to be the UNWD so after a few days of seeing him struggle I euthanized him.

Everyone else doing great so I hope it stays that way

I am hoping for the best for your tank! I am looking to add a Cirrhilabrus lubbocki and Halichoeres chrysus soon.
