The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

He was never a model citizen either…. I’m guessing rehoming is the only real solution? How long should I wait before deciding it’s not gonna get any better?
I'm not the one to ask this... I've only ever rehomed 1 fish for aggression issues and that was a Tiger Oscar that ate my prized (and holding) female Electric Blue Mainganos cichlid. She has about $500 of babies in her mouth when he ate her.

I'd catch it and put it in the sump if you can, that buys you time.

My sump is the back of my AIO, unfortunately. It doesn’t appear like he’s about to kill anyone imminently. If things get worse, I’ve got a feed/acclimation box I can store him in! It’s too bad, the little monster is really beautiful. On the other hand, getting rid of it means the aggression level in my tank goes way down and I can get multiple other fish.

You got to get a better picture of that Male Black Leopard. They are such beautiful fish. Very nice Royal Pencil
Unfortunately there will not be better pics of the black leopard. I went in to pick them up today and he had some issues. If he gets through them I'll pick him up at a later date but it doesn't look good right now.

On a side note, I still plan to add 2 more fish total to my tank. Now that the leopard is seemingly out of the picture I'm not sure what those two fish will be. I'm thinking one will be a bigger fish, possibly a gem tang. My other fish will probably be another Halichoeres. So what are your favorites?

Halichoeres pallidus and Halichoeres iridis.

If you like more leopard-ish Halichoeres, Halichoeres lapillus.

My Bluethroat Fairy is getting there. In a large tank, this wrasse is exceptionally bold and beautiful.
This picture show all three of my newest wrasses.

Hey Wrasse lovers. I’m looking for a Haliochoeres wrasse and was thinking chrysus. But… my LFS has a “Christmas wrasse” not sure the species. Are these two fish same in behaviors? My main concern is my invertebrate population namely Lysmata genus cleaners.

Species help?

I picked up one of these instead. Never heard of it but beautiful and I’ve never seen/ heard of one until today! Nice and small too.

Added this girl to the display as a result of a new purchase for observation today. LFS near my daughter’s gym is pretty good about having a decent wrasse selection and it doesn’t help they don’t sell them quickly and I’m going by every other week. 🙄
Glad to finally have a wrasse in my display! Hope she adapts well.

Great little fish with a lot of personality. Mine is quite mild, but he is also the smallest fish in a tank full of boisterous mates.
