Is a pink striped wrasse less aggressive than a sixline, thinking about ditching my sixline in my 29g for a pink striped wrasse
Yes, different genera, and a very different attitude.

NOOOO...SAY IT AINT SOOO. I love that big turkey.
He isn't hurting them no injuries...
Soon, he'll either just eat them, or remove their eyes...

Thalassoma species only belong in large, aggressive species only, swim tanks.

My new addition to QT (I've had her about a week). I've been wanting this species for a couple of years and finally was able purchase one. I'm actually hoping it stays female.

Started her out on live black worms, she ate 3/4 cube of Hikari mysis today! Fingers crossed!

Often overlooked, under appreciated but very beautiful fish. I suppose Yellowfin Flasher is such an uninteresting name.
My fisrt one died a while back. He was a large treminal male by the time I bought him. This one is a young male. I hope he will be with me for a long time.

Hello!!!
I have a 90g cube

current inhabitants are:
CUC snails & hermits
Sifting star
Valentini puffer
Lemon peel angel
YWG
Clown

I will be having a mixed reef, adding first frags in a month. I am thinking about adding a wrasse, when is a good time to, before or after frags? and was curious if someone could list the pros and cons of each:
-6 line
-blue side fairy
- melanarus

Melanurus and Blueside Fairy are fine. I would avoid a 6 line wrasse. They do get very aggressive IME. Also there are a lot of other fairy and flasher wrasse to consider. Blue-side does get aggressive and large when he is mature.

My Diamond Tail pair. Both was just over and under 1 inch in Feb of this year. Now the male is about 2.5 inches and the female pushing 2 inches. They spawned regularly. The male in full display, full of colors and fins, swimming around and around her. Both dart up the water about 6-10 inches then dive down. I have not see them release eggs and sperms yet, but that activity cannot be anything but spawn ritual.
The male started to change sex as soon as a larger male was removed from QT (went to a friend of mine). The dorsal ray elongated within a few days of removal of the larger male. He was only about 1.25 inch at the time. He is able to suppressed sex change of the female in my aquarium of 320 gal since 2/2020.
Here are a few pictures today. They swim very fast and it is hard to take good pictures.
