LOL, I like them the best and my tank is full of them, I said that because they are the easiest to grow. :D

My favorite too and my other favorite is goniopora.

I just setup a 40 breeder and half the tank will be dedicated to goniopora. I am going to make a goniopora forest like one of my pics above which also was one of my 40 breeders.

1. Do you think soft coral dominated reefs are underrated and why?

I would word it a different way - I think SPS only tanks may be 'overrated'. I like both - but I think a true great reef has a combination of both kinds - which is more difficult - and to me at least looks more natural

2. How many of you have a soft coral dominated reef tank now?
I would say I'm about even.

Underrated and for me here’s why:

pics of individual sps is pretty much always going to look nicer than most softies.. HOWEVER a softie tank done well like the one posted by Revtree are what I would describe as ‘enchanting’ like I wish I could be miniaturised so I could go and explore it. It seems like the entrance to an alien world and there is so much to see.

An sps tank on the other hand whilst beautiful, is more one dimensional and doesn’t quite pull me in the same way.

1. Do you think soft coral dominated reefs are underrated and why?

Yes, I do believe they are, although not my personal preference, but they can be very stunning. I do very much love to see the softies the genital sway it's really mesmerizing. Color-wise I have seen some very colorful softie tanks, on the color side, some new very interesting colored fish have really changed the game for reef keeping and think can be added to splash color. chemical warfare is why I always stayed away from them in a mixed reef.

2. How many of you have a soft coral dominated reef tank now?

I do not, I'm a stick head, I love the colors.
Yes I love the “genital” sway of softies ;)

I do think soft coral reefs are underrated. And, I've met some SPS reef owners who believe softie reefs are less than. I happen to like the different shapes, colors and movement.
