Thick algae

My tank is about 4 months old. The coral I put in seen happy, fish are happy, but I have this thick purple and red algae over everything. I’m doing weekly water changes, snails, hermit crabs. I don’t know if this is still the ugly stage or I have something else. Any suggestions?

Red cyanobacteria, takes some patience to get rid of. Remove it manually with a turkey baster by sucking it up and discarding it. Keep your parameters in check while you continue manual removal and it should dissipate after a month or two.

that is cyanobacteria, it often grows in new tanks where there is increased organics and lower flow. Nothing eats it so you have to get rid of it.

Syphon it out with your water changes and try to direct a bit more flow towards that spot.
