Third time better be the charm

Speaking of.....if anyone has any empty turbo snail shells let me know ill pay for shipping or trade for honey. I stuff them with homemade frozen food for her. Some are showing their age and im running out.
I have some shells. I'll try to collect some and get a picture by a ruler

I have these but I am pretty sure they are too big.

Need a banana for accurate measurements.

Do you need turbo shells,or asterina shells ?
Turbo the opening is larger and its easier to get the frozen in them. I only give he one every 3 days but since she smashes them they only last a few rounds.

Sorry Becky, I don’t see any. I have a robust cuc that takes care of them and I never take the shells out. I’m doing a tank transfer this weekend and if I find some under the sand I’ll let you know.

I know this weather is not enjoyable for a lot of people. It hits even harder for those of us that get "the winter blues" aka Seasonal Depression. Now im not one to complain but this winter aka the last few weeks have really been a strain on me personally. But I checked the weather and it appears there is hope on the horizon. The question is now how long until all the snow melts and how long will the Muddy season last? I am not holding out much hope for the bees though. I have never had to winter through this level of cold for this length of time. If any of the 3 hives make it, it will be a miracle.

What does it cost for a new swarm these days or would you collect your own?

Dosed at 1/3 the recommended strength, I think. Then later tonight another round of the other stuff. Vacuumed before dosing.

Re mathed and it called for 3 doses of 350ml. I dosed 160ml which is about 1/3 of the 500ml bottle. Better to be conservative since I am adding other bacteria to the equation.

What are your numbers, do you want them lower?
Testing tomorrow am. Need the carbon to help fuel and establish all the new bacteria im adding to outcompete the cyano. If needed will add ni and phos.

Water test Wednesday
Ph 7.92 am 8.2 high per hydros in pm
Po .4 (due to biofuel dosing?)
Ni 10
Alk 7.7 (bumping up dose to 96ml/d from 84)
Ca 450 (reducing to 54 from 60 used new source of ca)
MG 1380
Skimmer is back on. Will monitor phos. Sunday it was .2 so assuming it was the biofuel or disturbing the sand bed that spiked it again. Id like to see alk at 8.5 cal steady at 440. Yep chasing numbers. Mostly just need to get rid of the cyano.
Ill test ni/po Friday am again.
