Tile reef safe for tank

I wanted to buy tile and use them for frag disk. Is there a certain kind I need to use?

I use Tumbled marble from lowes and cut them up for frag disks.
They work and get covered in coralline quickly.

So I just look for Tumbled marble.

Anyone else. Do I have to worry about them leaking anything? Does anyone else use tile

marble, is made from corals your be fine with that.

travertine works great... you can buy the little 1"x1" squares ready to go...;)

I have used regular ceramic tiles from Lowes/HD with no problems. PITA to get the glue off the back, but some don't even do that. I was buying the 12"x12" mosaics. Something to watch for with tile is that if the surface is too smooth, glue won't stick to it very well. The tiles I last bought were more porous.

The glue is actually pretty easy to deal with. Put a bunch in water, pop-em in the microwave til the water boils then scrape it off with a table knofe. Gotta do it while they're still hot, so use something to hold them with.

I use the little 1X1 ones that look like rough square rock....work great and look pretty natural (as square can look natural)
