I have recently brought a 10 gallon tank for my bed room, I have bought the quietest equipment as I can’t sleep with much noise. Put the power head I have which is the Voyager nano silent, is too noisy and is louder than my pump. I was wondering if I could turn the power head off at night, I want this tank to house soft corals and some invertebrates. The return back into the tank is creating a good amount of movement in the water and the water surface is moving and so is the sand near the bottom. Will the current return flow be enough during the night, so I can switch the power head off while I sleep? Or do I have to keep it all going all day and night?

It should be fine for soft corals. Consider buying an MP10 quietdrive. It is silent

You should be fine to turn it off as long as you don’t have acros. I can’t sleep with noise either... ;Dead

What's the GPH rating on the return? Sounds like there is good water movement for softies though

Turning the power head off at night is just fine. You might even get a timer for it. As long as you have some flow you will have good gas exchange at night. A lot of corals close up for the night as soon as lights go out, but some do feed at night.

Hey Alfie - I also have a nano tank like yourself.. How big is this MP10?
I am struggling with my current wavemaker (freesea JVP) pushing too much water for the tank.. I cannot have it on constantly..

The mp10 is small, up to 1500 GPH. It is controllable and adjustable.
