Well, it's full of water and we have a return pump in place. Plug it up and the bulk head has a drip. Snug it best I can and I think I got it stopped. Still need some fine tuning on the drain and the water height in the return pump chamber. We have a few bubbles coming out the return nozzle.

Yea, can't figure out why. Thought it was the air inlet on the drain. So I put a piece of electric tape on it. The bubbles went away in the filter sock area, but they were still coming out of the pump. I tried turning the pump and powerheads off, let everything settle and turn it back on again. Solid stream of micro bubbles out of the pump and the sump was full. No way to pull air. I'm lost. I have no idea what is wrong.
It was going too smoothly.

You have air getting in the system. I know captain obvious.
Since they aren't in your sump I guess you are pulling air in the return pump and line. Let it sit and see if you can find a small leak. The other is cover your seams with food color each seam a different color and see if you can figure it out that way. If you are pulling air you should also pull some color as well. You may see the color going into the seam.

I thought venturi effect on a leak also... I'm not happy with the return plumbing at all. I suspect that's where my leak is. I'm most likely going to rebuild it.

Sometimes there's a small gap in the lok line joints that can cause air to come in. Rotate the joints a little.

Alright, here's what I've found... The plumbing is leaking. Well dripping. Still getting a TON of bubbles out of the overflow from that air hole in the top of the stand pipe. The gave valve has a small weep at the top threads. The return bulkhead is still dripping and there's another small drip on the adapter I had to piece together for the pump. I'm just gonna let it turn water over tonight, then tomorrow I'll drain the water out of that overflow, pull the bulkheads and fix my plumbing. Still want to see how I can get rid of all those bubbles in the filter sock. It'll catch them there, but they can pass right into the fuge and then to the return pump if there's enough of them.

It's good that your finding the leaks now, before it's salty and full of life. That's what leak tests are for! Now once you have addressed the small leaks and you still have micro bubbles in the system, those should go away in time as bacteria start to colonize. "Should" is my disclaimer word Lol.

Yea. I wanted to circulate water for a little while before I dumped a bunch of salt in there. I'm not going to drain the whole tank. But I need to fix all that plumbing now. Well not now, tomorrow. Now is Xbox time.

I find when I frustrated its always good to get some live trigger time or simulation on the Xbox.
