You just reminded me I need to swap out my sock. That filter plate is pretty cool. Seems to evenly divert that water through the sock. I Didn’t use the sponge it also comes with for that spot. seems like another trap if your running the sock anyway.

First night having it I’m really digging the sunset mode.

Question. should I run blues all night or let the tank go completely dark? Right now they are set at 10 percent.

I'm still considering selling it live and buying more branch later for that corner. I do have a sponge filter plate that goes on top of the filter sock. I could stick some polyfilter in there.
Sell live if you are that worried about it.

Are you going to do a full cycle with the tank? If you don't use your old rock won't you have to?

I'd let it go dark... I wouldn't want to over expose my corals. My Kessils, do not go that dim for a night light tho... I believe the AP700 does have a night light. I'd love to upgrade to one.

The Hydras have a moon phase which will override the setting. If you are in a new moon the tank is dark

The CaribSea rock is coated with some type of spored bacteria that will reactivate completely in 24 hours... according to caribsea. The ocean direct sand also has a ton of bacteria.

I actually think my rock is perfectly fine. I was questioning it because my forest fire digi is completely closed. No polyp extension at all. Well... I've seen my coral beauty nipping at the forest fire, mystic sunset and the starburst monti. Seems that she's developed a taste for montipora.

Yea, we have 80 lbs ordered from Drs F&S... couldn't pass up less than $1/lb for live sand. Thst stuff was expensive from BRS.

Besides, it's live from the ocean, and I'm all about live ocean bacteria in my tank. Screw dry aragonite.
