I have a 3 eye frag right now and I see new growth daily. My question is I have a uncontrolable amount of green hairy mushrooms and a few are getting close to invading in my BGM space. Ive heard chalices have some pretty potent stuff lol will they hopefully kill the invaders? Please say yes lol they are out of control growing up the glass and everything. The rock they are growing on with the chalice can not be removed

I know mushrooms can sting as well.. but idk who will win...if the bgm could be removed i would place on the sb until i found another spot where it can have its space...

You can send all of the unwanted shrooms my way :snicker:

I still wouldn't risk having a mushroom get close to it. They are to expensive to let a $5 coral have a shot at zapping it. But yea, they have a tough sting for sure. I've had an acan fall on a challice that was skeleton in an hour, and had two chalice fight each other. Both times sucked!

I would have to agree with luke. ive seen some pretty narly shrooms at neptune, they can do alot of damage. but then again chalices are pretty nasty too.

Man I am gonna have to find someway to remove these shrooms any suggestions on how to do so inside the aquarium? I am afraid of moving my rocks they've been in place for about 6 years now and I dont want to stir anything up lol. Could I get a new screwdriver and chip them off in the tank?

I have made think KAlK paste and smeared it on any unwanted coral and it works great. You just need to mix kalk with a lil water until it form a paste, then u can spread it on unwated coral in your tank HTH
