Hey everyone!

I posted here a little bit ago about a torch coral that was somewhat unhappy due to lighting. The torch coral still seems unhappy. He partially opens up during the day and definitely closes up overnight. Do you think he’s still adjusting? I haven’t adjusted my lights in a week and got another torch over the weekend. Curious what your thoughts are.
Parameters
Calcium 387 (slowly bringing this up)
Nitrate 6.8
Phosphate 0.18
Alk 9.7

Any thoughts would be helpful.

What kind of lights are you using?

I would also be curious about the flow it is getting as well

Nicrew hyperreef 65 watt. My par is 120-150 where they are right now. I’m slowly increasing the par in my tank so I’m not sure if that’s what’s annoying them or if something else is off

I wouldn't put them in anything really brighter than what you have them in..if you are slowly increasing PAR levels, that could be your issue as well. EVERY time I do a minor adjust (like a 5% intensity increase or decrease) you'll set them back at least a month. SO consider that when you play around with lighting. Stability for a reef tank, also includes your lighting, which we don't always think about. With every adjustment it takes on average 4 weeks for corals to re-adapt and "get happy"

Okay that makes me feel better. I was having issues with my lights where one of them went out while I was on vacation so I had to get a new light and am now trying to adjust them. I wanted to make my tank have higher PAR so I can keep acro so I had to raise my lights higher than what I had them before. If you’re saying you usually see them be unhappy for a month that makes me feel slightly better. This process of raising my lights slightly has been going on for about a month now. Maybe I’ll just not touch the lights for awhile and let everything adjust again. Should I be concerned with the torch or just let it do its thing. I can put the lights back down but I also don’t want to really annoy the torch.

As with just about everything having to do with reef keeping, the LESS touching, the better off.
