Unique coral - keep, cut or sell?

You wouldn't guess from the growth form this guy has taken, but this is an orange M. digitata, acquired as a stick frag ~4+ years ago. (Not the pale elkhorn variant that seems to be around for sale a lot more.)

It's always been colorful and growing, even through the mistakes I've made, but it's stayed in this tabling form, growing about 10" straight out from his rock. There is one token branch, which doesn't grow, in all the expanse of that table. :)

Anyway, I'm at a crossroads with this piece and am hoping for some advice or an interested party to help out.

I don't have the space to keep him without getting rid of other corals, but I also don't have good means to cut him up or space for the 20+ frags he could make. This leaves the sell as-is option, but he's huge.

Interested to hear some thoughts! I'd like to do "something" this week ideally.

If you don't have room for it I'd try to sell it in one piece first. It's a visually striking piece that would be great for someone's tank.

You say you acquired it as stick-shaped frag, so I'm wondering if the growth habit has to do with the conditions in the tank. Plating is an adaptation to lower light levels. Just a thought.

I'd like to post it for sale here then (first time), but forum rules require a firm price....no idea how I can fix a firm price to something like this. I can say it would be easy to get 20-30 frags out of it...more if you wanna sell smaller frags. "normal" size frags seem to retail for $30-$40 online, FWIW.

Any tips where to start, or otherwise how to go about the sale posting? (Would it be wise to try selling in another outlet?)

What part of Virginia are you located in Matt? Virginia has almost 5 reef forums if I am not mistaken. I am a member of two of them, I can say with confidence they wouldn't give you trouble for just joining to sell this piece, and the two I know don't really have any restrictions on posting even if you're a brand new member.
