Hey everyone, about 18 days ago I saw my 3 year old hippo was showing ich. About two weeks before that my UV went down and I had to replace it. I immediately pulled all my fish from my 125gal and placed in two separate QT tanks. I began treating with copper power.

The hippo seemed to clear up and then at day 10 in copper he took a turn and now he looks terrible; heavy breathing, lethargic, laying along the tank bottom covered in bumps. All my other fish in the QT were symptom free and now my yellow tang is showing signs of sickness. They are now at day 14 at therapeutic levels (2.5ppm verified with a hanna tester). I dosed prazi last night in the event it was more than ich. The YT now shows light white bumps along his top fin line. Its hard to capture due to my airstone bubbles.

Anyone have any advice on how I should proceed?

The other group of fish in my 2nd QT have no symptoms and look great. They are more copper sensitive; anthias/wrasses/pj cardinals so I was raising the ppm slower in that tank.

the yellow has a rash/scrape from likely injury and hepatus has mucus cones likely from skin issue and may be mixed in with ich. Having two issues going on here, I would quarantine both in this QT tank and treat with coppersafe instead at therapeutic level 2.25 for a full 30 days and then follow with prazi. Prazi does not and will not address ich but rather worms and flukes. Monitor copper level with a copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.

Does the tank have good aeration? The water in the pics looks kind of still.
What is the pH and ammonia?

I have a air stone running 24/7, a HOB filter, a small wavemaker that i usually use for mixing my all for reef dosing. Ive periodically add mb7 and monitor ammonia with an alert patch.

Should i do a 25% water change and replace with fresh saltwater thats medicated to 2.5ppm?

You can prior to medicating. Be sure to test and monitor coppersafe levels

If the ammonia is fine, then I wouldn't worry about a water change in the middle of the treatment.
