When i started vodka dosing i started with .4ml a day. Did that for a week then upped it to .5ml. Increasing each week by .1ml untill you see that your getting build up on your glass. At that point drop .1ml. My total system volume is about 40 gallons on one tank and 55 on another. My 40g tank gets .7ml a day and the 55 receives .8ml

Vodka dosing will also help to run an ultra low nutrient system. But dosing too much vodka can also cause problems. Please take some time to read up on vodka dosing before you start.

Both vodka and vinegar dosing can yeild the same negative effects if overdosed. It has been said that with vodka its easier to OD. Vinegar will require higher dosages though.

With my experience I noticed a slight cyano bloom with vodka but soon it cycled it self out. With vodka I did not get one. Why? Don't really know but at the end of the day they both work really well controlling nitrates and phosphates.
