Well I'm moving and I'm taking the opportunity to get a little bigger tank.

I ordered this from Glass cages. Got a lot of PM's about their work, but ordered it anyway because the price was right.
(The silicone is kinda suspect, and the beveling is bad)
SO here is the tank

She is currently all plumbed up and being filled as we speak.

I got pictures of the hung canopy, but left the camera at the new house.

Equipment:

Lighting
(4) 250 HQI Phoenix on Icecap ballast
(6) T5's all actinic-

Need to order new bulbs, I am going to go with aquascience 22k if I can find them.

Skimmer
Octo extreme 300

Flow
3 Tunze 6100's
2 Vortech MP40w's

Mag 18 return from a basement sump

Misc. equipment
Deltec Calcium reactor
Phosban reactor.

The setup is pretty simple...

Now that she is getting filled, I have some concerns about pump placement.
Here is a great picture of the rockwork and proposed locations of the pumps.

She is viewable on the sides.

I love the 48" X 48" inch tanks. Very nice! Keep the pictures coming........

whats goin on with the glass and acrylic overflow boxes?
liking the dimensions, not so much on the builders as i hate gc

The Acrylic is a cover for the glass overflow box. The finish quality is not top notch, but the tank was about $1500 CHEAPER (if I remember right), then the next builder. It is not perfect, but hopefully it holds water, and with a little effort here and there, Rich will have a very nice tank.

Wow great looking tank.

I have a frag tank from them and like the acrylic overflow. Built a hofer drain and it is completely quiet.

I promice you guys, once he gets water/coral/fish in there,

if people are noticing silicone, there are serious problems with his coral and fish.

That is going to be a sweet tank when you get it set up.
What are you planning to put in it?

I've had my 240 from GC setup for about 2-1/2 years and I still love it.

I really like the tank. I am planning on getting one with about the same dimensions. But not for a while unless I find a deal I just can’t say no to. Can’t wait to see it up and running.

I am just curious how thick is the glass ???

I ask because there is no brace. Just wanted to know how thick the glass would have to be to do that.

If I'm not mistaken, the brace is around the bottom instead of the top. Look again real close and you'll see a second layer of glass.

I saw the glass around the bottom. I don’t really get what that is for but it isn’t helping with the pressure at the top where you have to have a brace unless the glass is thick enough to take the pressure.

thats a nice tank! im going to look into those dimensions for my upgrade.

The glass is 3/4" thick, There is absolutly no bowing, there is a second rim around the bottom that helps. I will get some updated picks tomorrow. I've got the skimmer mover over and cooking...

Got everything moved,

Losses:
Poker star Monti
Lunar wrasses ( he just disappeared )
1 t-5 geissman bulb (sp)
1 Phoenix bulb
And a crap-load of Color :( (I should get it back in a couple of weeks though)

With out further delay..

Dude! You did well! I didn't know you were moving this weekend, you should have let me know... I would have helped!

Well, I think you did pretty well. How about some pictures of your sump? Is that up and running yet?

Sump is up and running, I'll get pictures of the sump tomorrow. I'm at the wrong house right now.
